Leicestershire Cricket Club is familiar with sporting success, and its Grace Road conference center has an equally proud reputation – as a venue of true excellence.

The Club caters for events of all sizes from a conference for 200 or a small meeting for 10, with all of its suites boasting a fantastic view of the picturesque playing fields.

Grace Road also provides the perfect facilities for functions ranging from wedding receptions, birthday parties or club dinners. And with such a packed diary to organise, a move to digital technology was a must.

After a rigorous selection procedure, the Club chose Rendezvous Events from NFS Technology – and Conference Sales and Events Executive Trudi McGoldrick is delighted with the results.

NFS Workspace Consultant Patrick Morris explains why deploying venue management software made good sense to this leading organization.

“With an extremely busy calendar and high level of sales, the Club were previously using a Teams calendar for booking rooms and handling admin through Word and Excel spreadsheets,” he says.

“While they had the process down to a fine art, and customer service was excellent, it was very admin-intensive and repetitive for the staff. It could be difficult to track version control on function sheets, too.”

Now Rendezvous software is used by both the matchday and events business, and has streamlined everything from sales to calendar to booking and accurate billing – including integration with accounts. Function sheets are always up to date and accessible to all online.

Trudi says the team now uses Rendezvous Events every day.

“It’s helping all teams across the business stay on the same page with bookings, reports, availability and costings,” she says.

The Club chose Rendezvous because it came highly recommended, and appreciated how smoothly the deployment went.

“Having a trainer on hand to help us build the system and to assist us when required was excellent,” says Trudi. “The NFS team are now in regular contact with us, checking to see if we need support with anything.”

Now Rendezvous is embedded in the daily life of the events business, the LCC team are pleased with the outcomes, both for staff and for clients.

“The system has helped us hugely – it has saved us a lot of time with repeat bookings and reports. This gives us more time to focus on the operations side,” says Trudi.
